Impact assessment is "a means of measuring the effectiveness of organisational activities and judging the significance of changes brought about by those activities" (International Federation of Red Cross 2005), as well as cost-effectiveness analysis and cost-benefit analysis, which compare impacts and costs. The activities and interventions need not be tied to any specific organization. This could include posts which include impact assessments; which discuss pros, cons, and best practices for impact assessment; or which discuss theories of change or forecasts of impacts, against which measured impacts could later be compared.
