The Life You Can Save: Acting Now to End World Poverty is a book by Peter Singer. It was published in March 2009.

The book played a major role in the formation of the effective altruism community.[1] It also inspired Cari Tuna and Dustin Moskovitz to establish the philanthropic foundation Good Ventures, which has granted over $1.3 billion to organizations working on many of the world's most pressing problems.[2][3][4]

In December 2019, a revised 10th Anniversary Edition of the book was released, in both ebook and audiobook formats. The audiobook is narrated by Stephen Fry, Paul Simon, Kristen Bell, and other prominent actors, artists and philanthropists. Both the ebook and the audiobook can be downloaded for free.
