In thinking about the democratization - what role would real people impacted by the organization's decisions play? This is probably mostly related to global health & development - but it seems very strange to democratize to "effective altruists" but not to mention involving the people actually impacted by an EA organization's work. I don't think "democratizing" per se will probably be the right way to involve them - but finding some way of gathering the insights and perspectives of people impacted by each organizaiton's work would help with the expertise, epistemics, and power problems mentioned.
