My "Career Stage" is both undergraduate degree and Master's degree because I'm going for both at the same time.

I'm looking for AI Safety research positions for summer 2025: the summer before my senior year of college. As I understand it, the way to get into AI research may start with me gaining reputation and experience in a non-AI software development role that summer.

I'm having trouble deciding between academia and industry. Guidance is valuable.
