I understand why everyone is so focused on AI x-risk but I feel it's so laser focused that it's like driving into future staring into the rearview mirror. Where are the prizes that encourage fiction that can better imagine what sort of future we want with AI, and how to aim at it, rather than what we don't?
I'm trying to do that here (though very much not a short story), but I really want more people to put forth their perspectives on what a good future with AGI/ASI looks like. Is the only way to encourage this type of constructive fiction to fund it yourself?
