This event brings together participants from the United States and China for an open, respectful conversation about rising tensions between the two countries.
The goal is not to reach agreement, but to understand each other’s perspectives more clearly and explore ways to reduce conflict and promote cooperation, especially on shared global challenges like climate change and the governance of emerging technologies.
While the conversation will focus on US-China relations and perspectives from these two countries, people from other parts of the world are welcome to join the event as audience members (with the possibility to ask questions and provide input as appropriate). Participants may come from a variety of backgrounds, including effective altruism, international affairs, and other communities interested in reducing global risks and improving cross-cultural understanding.
If you are interested to join (in-person in DC or virtually from anywhere in the world), please RSVP through this link: https://www.effectivealtruismdc.org/event/international-security-and-foreign-policy-discussions-with-eas-in-china.
The event is co-organised by Effective Altruism DC and the Global Stability Network.
