Hey all, ARN #2! This is a meeting series with rotating topics, where we can discuss ideas and strategies for ending factory farming. The meetup has two goals: to fuel our strategic thinking as animal advocates and to keep up to date on the latest research in the movement! Anyone who is interested in attending is welcome to join.

This time I’d like to look at this report on “Social Change and Protests”, which surveys 120 academic experts in Sociology, Political Science and other relevant disciplines to investigate what makes some movements more successful than others.

There are some interesting results here, and we can think about how (and if) this can be applied to the animal movement, as well as go over some examples of how these tactics have been used in the past.
