Effective Altruism NYC will be going for a walk-&-chat around Prospect Park. We hope this will be a nice chance to meet or catch up with others in the effective altruism community outdoors, before the weather gets too too cold! Newcomers to effective altruism are very welcome :)

We’ll meet at the Concert Grove Pavilion in Prospect Park. It’s just 2-3 min into the park, from the entrance at Ocean Ave and Lincoln Road. The entrance is also right next to the Prospect Park subway station on the B and Q trains.

We’ll do a loop around the Prospect Park, and plan to cover around 3 1/2 miles, taking restroom and water breaks as needed.

If you have trouble finding us or want to track us down later, you can try Facebook-messaging Arushi Gupta, but the simplest thing is just to be there at 3pm!

For those new to effective altruism, here are a couple of good introductions. In short, EA is about using evidence to carefully analyze how, given limited resources, we can help others the *most*.
