Come celebrate giving season with the Vancouver and UBC Effective Altruism communities!
We have 3 events you can attend:

1) November 26: Live Zoom talk by Emma Cameron - Director of Chapter Management of One for the World followed by a free dinner!
Emma has joined One for the World after four years of running corporate campaigns and organizing with a distributed network of volunteers at Mercy For Animals, a global farmed animal protection non-profit. She learned about effective giving in Madison, Wisconsin, where she obtained her Master's degree in geochemistry. Her earlier passion for telling stories about the ancient Earth through isotopic analysis of tiny crystals has translated to a passion for sharing stories to fuel the movement to revolutionize charitable giving.

2) November 28: Live-stream viewing party for the Effective Giving Day 2022 event (free snacks!): https://www.facebook.com/events/908548530129148?active_tab=about
Effective Giving Day will feature guests including GWWC co-founder and author of What We Owe the Future William MacAskill, bestselling author Rutger Bregman, and more as well as other community members about how effective giving has become an important part of their lives.
We’ll also hear from our community members on where they donate and why!

3) December 10 THE GRAND FINALEEEE: A viewing party for those that missed the live-stream followed by a Giving Game and free dinner!
At the end of the youtube viewing party, we will play a Giving What We Can Giving Game where we give you money, and based on what you've learnt and your own values, you decide which of the charities discussed it should be donated to and why.
