A career in research can be exciting, fulfilling, unpredictable and has the potential to change the world. It is what you make of it! However, the early stages of a research career can be intimidating and overwhelming: how do you go about picking a thesis topic that aligns with your values, has a positive impact and will prepare you for the paths you take in the future? How do you select a specific research question and determine what kind of supervisor you want?

If you are asking these questions, this workshop by the Undergraduate Research Society and Effective Altruism ANU is for you! Get ready to delve deep into the ideas of Effective Thesis, an organisation which assists students with their thesis topic choice and directs their attention to areas which have the potential to greatly improve the world.

The workshop will be starting at 6PM in room 2.02 of Marie Reay and we will be providing free pizza for everyone who attends!
