Have you ever wondered why fish feel pain? Why do bees dance? Why are octopuses so cheeky? Which animals have emotions? This talk will introduce you to the frontiers of animal sentience science and philosophy. You will learn about the major theories, and the focus will be on fish, bees, and invertebrates like crustaceans (crabs), insects, and (everyone's favourite) octopuses!
There will be food and chai available. Please click 'going' if you are planning to come, so we know how much to catering to prepare!
This is the first of a two-part series we are doing on animal welfare. For our next talk, we will invite a special guest working on animal advocacy work in Australia. Stay tuned!
