In this session, Joshua and Janvi from the Biosecurity Research Group at the Future of Humanity Institute will discuss Global Catastrophic Biological Risks (GCBRs). They will present some of their current thinking on GCBRs as well as key uncertainties, followed by a Q&A and open discussion.

About the speakers: Joshua is a researcher at the Future of Humanity Institute (FHI), where works on projects ranging from epidemiology to the governance of dual-use research. He has previously done research at the Georgetown Center for Global Health Science and Security. Janvi Ahuja is a DPhil Affiliate at FHI, where she works with the Biosecurity Research Group in addition to her DPhil research on emerging viruses. She is an iGEM alumnus and previously worked as an intern at the Biological Weapons Convention for six months.
