The host has requested RSVPs for this event

At the beginning of the pandemic, 1Day Sooner collected over 35,000 signatures of volunteers willing to be infected with COVID-19 in order to understand more about the novel virus, help develop vaccines and treatments, and hopefully end the pandemic as soon as possible. Almost 2 years later, the world’s first COVID-19 challenge trial results have just been released.

In this event, we ask 4 COVID-19 human challenge trial volunteers whether they believe the risk was worth it. Do they base the utility of volunteering for human challenge trials on the trial’s outcomes? Or do the trials’ potential for good make them inherently worth it?

Join us to gain a better insight into the motivations of human challenge trial volunteers, and discuss what is required to ensure that volunteering in these trials is, indeed, a meaningful act of altruism.

This event will be a panel discussion with four human challenge trial volunteers, with Danica Angel Marcos of 1Day Sooner as moderator.
