President and Co-Founder of the Reducetarian Foundation, Brian Kateman, will give a 10-15 minute presentation on the topic of how meat consumption and factory farming impact our environment, animals, and/or health followed by a ~45 minute Q+A on how to best go about animal and dietary advocacy.

Advocacy on these topics can be difficult but can also have a high impact if you deploy the right language and strategies. Brian has extensive experience in this field and wants to share his thoughts on how you can do the most good when advocating for dietary change, animal welfare, and the environment.

Here’s a description of Brian’s talk (before the Q+A):
"If the food system is broken, how can we fix it? In an age of ever present diet related illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, where less than one in ten get the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables, proposed solutions are plentiful, but few seem to agree on one. Some argue for investing in food technology, or more healthy and eco-friendly practices; others advocate for leaving meat off our plates entirely. But if we are to develop and deliver effective solutions, the engagement of stakeholders representing all motivations and areas of expertise is critical. At its core, this talk explores how we can unite these diverse perspectives with emerging tools to create a more equitable, compassionate, and nourishing food system."
