Join us at an impactful event that aims to shape the future of AI governance in Australia and encourage Australia to lead the world in adopting these measures globally! The Government has invited public feedback on their recent Supporting Responsible AI discussion paper, and we believe it's crucial to emphasise the importance of addressing potential catastrophic and existential threats posed by AI.

While applauding the government's efforts in promoting responsible AI, we have noticed a significant gap in their current process – the absence of consideration for future risks, such as the misuse of advanced AI or the potential for AI with misaligned goals leading to catastrophic outcomes. “Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war” has recently been signed by the heads of leading AI labs (OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Anthropic, Stability AI). Our mission is to shed light on this critical issue and drive the necessary change.

Our speaker Alexander (Zan) Saeri from Good Ancestors Policy (goodancestors.org.au/policy) will give a short presentation providing essential background and context for the submissions. To ensure your participation is easy and effective, we have gone the extra mile by providing several different example responses to each of the questions posed by the government. Attendees will have the opportunity to select the example response they most agree with, copy and paste it, and optionally rewrite and personalise the example answer so that it best represents their own answer to the question. Bring your laptop and charger so that you can fill in the submission while at the event!

Don't miss this chance to contribute to the shaping of responsible AI policies and safeguarding our collective future. Affecting government policy is high leverage and could be the most impactful way to spend your afternoon! Together, we can pave the way for a safer and more responsible AI landscape.

Please book a free ticket via Eventbrite so that we know how many people to expect.
