Unlike a traditional book club where members might focus on reading the same book and have detailed discussions around that book, at Reverse Book Club you can read whatever you want, at your own pace, in the company of like-minded individuals, to share in the joy of reading, or other quiet activities.
We welcome everyone.
Reverse Book Club is about the joy of reading and sharing that joy with others, and about making reading social so that we are encouraged to continue doing more of what we love. It's organized by Effective Altruism (EA) Bristol
2. How Sessions Work
The Reverse Book Club meets once a week on Monday evenings at 128 Parson Street, Bedminster (Nick's House).
The format we will follow is;
1. Members arrive at 7 PM and enjoy around 15 minutes of socializing.
2. The focused activity part of the session begins, and members can read or engage in other quiet activities for 45 minutes.
3. The session is brought to a close and members are encouraged to share their experiences from the session and socialize further.
3. What Inspired This
We want you to share in the joy of reading and make a dent in that ever-expanding reading list. We want to restoke that motivation to read, and use that to make friends and be part of our community.
Please feel free to ask us questions in the comments, and newcomers are always welcome. Much of the reading/activities may be EA related but it's not compulsory and we welcome people with all varieties of interest
