This event's topic: Designer babies. We now have the technology to start modifying the DNA of human babies, and some already have. There are a thousand opportunities (better cognition and stronger bodies, eliminating genetic diseases, reducing negative traits like aggression and jealousy) but also risks (biological inequality, speciation, risks of medical side-effects etc) to this technology, so the question is should we be in favour? If so, what parts? And how should it be regulated?
