Join UK Voters for Animals to respond to critical farmed animal welfare consultations
The Animal Welfare Strategy for England was published in December, and the Government has already released two consultations which we'll be completing together:
1. Cage reform: proposed ban on keeping laying hens, pullets and breeder layers in cages One of the most significant potential improvements for egg-laying hens in the UK, affecting 7 million hens at any time.
2. Lamb welfare: proposed changes to castration and tail docking methods
We'll work through these consultations together, providing you with guidance to submit informed responses. It is extremely important that Ministers and Civil Servants receive personalised responses to these consultations in order for the changes to go as far and as quickly as we want them to.
