Sofia is currently Fellowship Director at the Reducetarian Foundation and Program Coordinator at NYU's Mind, Ethics, and Policy Program as well as their Wild Animal Welfare Program. She also serves as an advisor to the board of the Berkeley Existential Risk Initiative (BERI).
In addition to the above roles, over the last eight years Sofia's involvement with EA has also included organizing the 2016 ACE research symposium at Princeton, serving as the managing director at ACE, working as a project manager at BERI, editing transcripts for the 80,000 Hours Podcast, contracting for various EA or EA-adjacent organizations such as Sinergia Animal, We Animals Media, and the Center on Long-Term Risk, emceeing for EAG, speaking at EAGx, mentoring through Magnify Mentoring, and getting funding for projects she led or worked on from Open Philanthropy and EA Funds.
Come hear about Sofia's expansive experience working with diverse EA cause areas and organizations. She'll also share her struggles, rejections, pain points, and bottlenecks throughout the years, and the takeaways and recommendations that she has to offer as a result.
