Hi, I have the following conundrum: my partner used to teach English in New Delhi and is still in touch with some former students of his. A few of them live in a slum and they and their families have been badly hit by the pandemic, as they were suddenly robbed of their jobs as street vendors. My partner has already started asking friends and family to chip in so that this group of ex-pupils can buy food to distribute among their families. On top of that, my parents have agreed to pledge a sum of money for my birthday this past July.

My question to you is: how can we benefit these people most with this money? How can we buy them the most security now and possibly in the future?

Thanks! Best, Sacha
