I recently released this animation. It gets into the topic of factory farming at 4:30 and cause prioritization/donation at 21:02.
People are often disinterested in hearing about animal advocacy so I wanted to see: can I interest the uninterested? That's why I went with the experimental style. Hopefully it will reach an audience that includes those less likely to view traditional animal advocacy media. I also tried to avoid preaching to the choir.
I have been amazed by how positive the YouTube comments have been. Hopefully this means that for at least some of the viewers, I was able to reach them on a deep enough level to have an impact.
No single approach will speak to everyone though. A wide variety of approaches, styles and perspectives is likely to be ideal.
I worked on this in (all of) my free time. I did not have any funding or look for any. Maybe I should consider that next time?
At 23:10 I did not mention the high cost effectiveness of the existential risk interventions because I made a video on AI risk not long ago but maybe I still should have mentioned it.
Share any thoughts or feedback you have. I'm always interested in improving. Also, if there are any future projects, opportunities or potential collaborations you think I would be interested in, let me know.
This was very cool. Extremely creative! And emotive. 168k views is impressive. Thanks for putting in the work into this in your spare time!
I'd be so curious to know if (m)any people donated to ACE as a result! (You could maybe ask ACE if they had recent donations citing your channel name or 'Youtube video's or some such as how they heard). Also wondering if you got (m)any new Patreon subscribers as a result
