Individual and group identities are powerful for shaping behavior.
I view stereotype threat as like a negative group identity.
It would be an interesting philanthropic project to hire marketing/branding/advertising companies to try and create more positive group identities for groups that currently have negative ones.
e.g. "xyz group people are thoughtful and generous with their resources"
