Kayla Kim

Bio

I’m Kayla, and I’ve recently discovered the EA movement. I’ve been independently considering how to best run international aid organisations and solve the world's biggest problems for a few years, so I'm excited to find a like-minded community.

Please get in touch with me at kayla.kim@laidlawfoundation.com if you’d like to chat!

My background is in writing & strategic communications. After finishing a degree in English at the University of Oxford, I worked in the humanitarian branch of the UN Mine Action Service, which removes explosive ordnance from conflict zones. There, in addition to managing communications and public relations, I drafted treaty statements and wrote grant proposals to mobilise resources for our humanitarian work.

Now I work for the Laidlaw Foundation, a philanthropic organisation which runs its own programmes aiming to raise the ‘next generation of ethical leaders’ by giving funding directly to primary schools and university students. I will also be starting a degree in Anthropology & Development Management to understand, from an academic perspective, how aid organisations can most effectively support communities worldwide.
