Welcome to our Effective Animal Advocacy Meetup! Whether you're a newcomer or you've joined us before, let's get to know each other (better) and explore the most thought-provoking questions facing the animal advocacy world today.
This time, we focus on protein diversification and the role of alternative proteins. We want to explore how plant-based, fermentation-based and cultivated meat can contribute to animal welfare and other societal goals. Ivo Rzegotta, who leads the work of the Good Food Institute Europe in Germany, will explain the current state of these new technologies, why GFI considers them an essential building block for animal welfare, climate action, food security and public health efforts and what challenges still exist for their broader adoption.
Schedule for the evening
- 19h00: Arrivals and vegan buffet
- 19h10: Brief intro to EA for newcomers
- 19h40: Presentation by Ivo with Q&A
- 20h30: Structured discussion, networking and socialising
- 21h30: End of the event
A vegan buffet will be ready for you! If you have any allergies or other dietary needs, please let us know in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
If you'd like to learn more about EA before attending the event, take a look at effectivealtruism.org to get a first impression.
