Join an online speaker event with ARMoR (Alliance for Reducing Microbial Resistance), a Charity Entrepreneurship incubated advocacy organization combating the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). There will be a talk followed by a Q&A.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an escalating global health problem resulting in nearly 1.3 million deaths each year and posing a significant threat to the future of modern medicine. In this talk, we will introduce AMR as an issue, explain how it arises, what the key drivers are, and how our current response is inadequate to deal with it. In particular, we will focus on the current failure to bring new drugs to market, what can be done about this through policy change, and why we think this is a crucial element of addressing the AMR crisis. Finally, we will give some thoughts on working on health policy more generally and offer ideas for how you can contribute to combating AMR and other global health issues through policy.

The event is hosted by EA Anywhere - an online discussion space and a touchpoint for people without local EA groups nearby.  If you want to get more involved, check out our events calendar, subscribe to the monthly newsletter, or join our Slack workspace.
