That battle is not over. As we saw from 27 million COVID-19 deaths, our approach to pandemics is still broken. Humanity still lives under the threat of pandemics as bad as smallpox. With the acceleration of biotechnology, the next pandemic could be worse.
The Australian government is doing an inquiry into COVID-19 and it's a unique opportunity for you help steer the government toward pandemic prevention. Governments are notorious for neglecting prevention, even when it would be cost-effective. For them to attend to it, they need to hear that the public cares.
