Welcome to our Effective Animal Advocacy Meetup! Whether you're a newcomer or you've joined us before, let's get to know each other (better) and explore the most thought-provoking questions facing the animal advocacy world today.
This time, we're excited to welcome Tobias Leenaert, author of How to Create a Vegan World and co-founder of ProVeg International, for a talk on the role of veganism in animal advocacy. Even as many organisations shift away from vegan advocacy, veganism remains central to the animal rights movement and to many animal advocates' own identity. In his talk, The Vegan Trap: Are We Making Animal Advocacy Harder Than It Needs to Be?, Tobias will explore how this identity can be a real asset, but also come with significant costs. He'll argue that many advocates are caught in a "vegan trap" and discuss what might help us get out of it.
