Dear Effective Altruists, 

I am excited to announce an unconference-styled event on the intersection of existential risks and crypto/Web3. The event will take place on May 4-6, 2023 at Vitalik's new pop-up city experiment called Zuzalu.

The intersection between existential risks and Web3 is under-explored and presents an exciting opportunity for collaboration and innovation. There is significant overlap in the thinking of both communities, and we believe that by bringing them together, we can leverage the power of Web3 technologies to help mitigate existential risks facing humanity. 

The goal of the co-created event is to enable a space for collaboration between those two fields. The event will feature a variety of sessions, including talks, panels, workshops, and interactive sessions. Sessions will focus mainly on AI alignment, safety, and risks, while also touching on other X-risks partly. You can see some of the already confirmed speakers and the preliminary schedule on our event website. Among many interesting sessions that are being planned, we will also explore the need and importance of decentralizing the EA movement. 

We invite all effective altruists who are passionate about mitigating existential risks and exploring the potential of Web3 technology to apply to take part in this conversation. I believe that by working together, we can make a real difference in the world and create a more resilient future for humanity.
