Discussion article for the meetup : GiveWell research event for Bay Area effective atlruists!
WHEN:
07 July 2015 07:00:00PM (-0700)
WHERE: San Francisco, CA
If you're interested in effective altruism, and you live in the Bay Area, you should come eat pizza and hang out with us at GiveWell's offices in San Francisco a couple weeks from now. (Tentatively, the evening of July 7th or 8th; we're not sure yet.)
The structure will be similar to past GiveWell research events: food and drinks are provided, there's some time for mingling, then there are presentations on GiveWell's top charity work and the Open Philanthropy Project (US policy, global catastrophic risks, etc.), and then more time for mingling. But this event is specifically targeted at those who are strongly interested in effective altruism, including fans of CFAR, MIRI, CEA, FHI, LessWrong, etc.
We hope to be able to accommodate everyone who is interested, but we may have to limit places depending on demand. If you are interested to attend, please fill out this short form:
