Tomorrow, April 22nd, California Senate Bill SB-684 will be considered by the Senate Standing Committee on the Judiciary. If passed, SB-684 would legally require major fossil fuel companies operating in California to contribute financially toward repairing climate damage caused by their activities in the state.

An advocacy campaign is currently underway, with an opportunity for community voices to be heard directly before policymakers. A UC Davis student advocate will speak to the Senate committee tomorrow in support of this important bill—representing all those backing his advocacy effort.

Now could be a key moment to drive meaningful climate accountability legislation forward. If you’re interested in learning more or supporting this effort, please reach out or comment below.
