Hi everyone!
We’re excited to share that our local Giving What We Can chapter has recently rebranded as Twin Cities 10%. We’re keeping the mission alive here in the Twin Cities: To inspire more people, to give more, more effectively.
We remain committed to promoting evidence-based giving in three key cause areas:
- Global Health & Wellbeing
- Animal Welfare
- Existential Risk (e.g. AI safety)
To kick off this new chapter, we’re hosting a speaker event this Thursday, May 22nd, from 6:00–7:30pm (CDT) at Arvonne Fraser Library in Minneapolis. There will also be a Google Meet option for anyone who can’t make it in person.
The featured speaker is from The Life You Can Save, and the talk will focus on their Rapid Response Fund — a program designed to quickly fill some of the gap left from recent USAID funding cuts
We’ll be hearing about:
- The Rapid Response Fund’s origins and how it works
- How charities were selected for funding
- What kinds of on-the-ground projects are being supported
- What gaps still remain in global health funding
And of course, there will be time for Q&A
Why attend?
- Learn about urgent global health needs and how effective giving can save lives.
- Meet other people in the Twin Cities interested in high-impact philanthropy.
- Hear what’s next for Twin Cities 10%, including upcoming events on Animal Welfare and Existential Risk.
