Are there any EA infrastructure (individual consultants / consultancies) that can help individuals with legal support on starting a nonprofit/charity (e.g. helping file the right paperworks, checking the legality of the plans, etc)?

Background: I am a non-US citizen trying to start a US-based nonprofit/charity (since I am planning to move soon), and I had trouble finding any such infrastructure available (besides incubation programs such as CE, but they seem to cover the entire charity-founding process; I am looking for more specific infrastructures for legal support).

I understand there are some people in the early stages of exploring this, though I'm sorry for the life of me I can't remember who. The Law and Longtermism slack channel which is run by the Legal Priorities Project and may be a good starting point, as I understand some people have found people for this there before.

Thank you for the pointer, I reference this post in the slack channel.

Hi - I am one of the lawyers looking into establishing an EA legal services org (and am the recipient of the FTX regrant noted in another comment). I won't be the right person to help you with your substantive question, but it could be useful to have a quick chat to identify the legal issues you need help with - and potentially connect you with one of the US lawyers also looking at this. If you could DM me a calendar link - or otherwise the time zone you're in and some times you'll be free in the next week.

I'm not sure how you'd reach the entity in question, but I noticed an FTX Future Fund regrant addressing this listed on the Fund's website.

Thank you! I will try to contact FTX if possible.
