I recently just bought a 3D printer, which I have experience using through a previous engineering job.

I'm trying to think of ways I could use it in an EA-like manner. One organization I found called Enable provides 3D printed prosthetics to those who lack access to traditional prosthetics. So perhaps the best cause area would be towards global health and poverty.

With the pandemic, helping manufacture PPE in my local area seems like great opportunity as well.

Cool! Random idea, maybe you could look into what the preppers/survivalists are doing with their 3D printers and look out for innovation ideas from a „humanity recovering from global catastrophes“ lense. What will be likely production bottlenecks, how could we use 3D printers and how could we make them more useful for this already today.
