Elaine is the author of Your Next 40,000 Hours, former CIO at Material Innovation Initiative, former Managing Director of Good Food Institute APAC, a finance lawyer pre-midlife.
She advises startups, corporates, and investors on strategies and industry insights; writes industry reports and startup manuals; speaks at conferences and to press. The common theme in Elaine’s second career is to harness the power of technology and market forces to shift the world away from industrial animal agriculture.
Prior to building new industries and ecosystems, Elaine had over a decade of experience in corporate and finance law, from IPO and M&A to structured products and investment funds, at Fidelity Worldwide Investment, Slaughter and May, and Simmons & Simmons.
Elaine’s experiences give her unique insights across the spectrum of nascent/mature industries, startups/nonprofits/corporates, conventional/purpose-driven career paths, cubicle/remote/hybrid structures, and external/inward-focused personal development.
