I’m the co-founder and Executive Director of Finemind, where I work to bring practical, everyday mental health care to communities across East Africa by embedding it into public health systems people already trust. I’m also the founder of Matchbox Fund, a small grantmaking effort that supports early-stage mental health work that often gets overlooked. I care a lot about systems change, local leadership, and doing things in ways that actually work on the ground. Most of what I do is about finding small but meaningful ideas and helping them grow into something lasting.

How others can help me

I’m eager for perspectives from people who have scaled health or mental health programs in low-resource settings, especially within or alongside government systems. I’d also welcome feedback on cost-effectiveness, impact measurement, and how others have navigated the trade-offs between rigor and practicality. For Matchbox Fund, I’m keen to learn from those who have designed or participated in early-stage, values-driven philanthropy. And if you see blind spots in how I’m thinking about scale, governance, or partnerships, I’d be grateful for candid feedback.

How I can help others

I can offer practical insight into implementing mental health interventions in low-resource settings, including what it takes to translate evidence into systems-level change and how to design for scale without sacrificing quality. I’m happy to share lessons from building Finemind’s peer-led model in Uganda, navigating government partnerships, and measuring impact using tools like WELLBYs and PHQ-9. I also enjoy working through questions of cost-effectiveness, behavioral design, and how to adapt models across contexts. If any of that is useful to your work, I’d be glad to connect.

I’m also happy to share some of the early and still unfolding lessons from starting a new philanthropic fund.
