I'm Evan, a CS undergrad at United International University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I lead ML Bangladesh, a 3,000+ member AI community in Google's AI Community network, and run Cedar Initiative, a youth-led organization working at the intersection of STEM education, climate action, and community development.
I am seeking remote job opportunities in community and events management. I also want to gain experience in project management, preferably with an impactful organization that offers a flexible schedule, as I am a full-time student. Additionally, I would appreciate guidance for my organization, Cedar Initiative, and I am particularly interested in getting support for one of my dream projects, Oikko - Community and Innovation Center, that I plan to establish someday in the area where I grew up in.
I can volunteer to provide information about events in Bangladesh. I can assist with research efforts in Bangladesh. Additionally, I can help connect individuals with institutions or organizations in Bangladesh if they need support.
I've never been to an EA event. I don't know anyone in the EA community personally. Bangladesh has basically no EA presence that I could find, which means I'm walking in without any of the context that comes from being part of a local group for years. I'm an ambivert who will likely be navigating a room full of people who've been doing this much longer than me. No idea if anyone has any guidance for me. I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you
Thank you for pointing out about EAGx. I'll apply for both in case I get a shot in either one of them :D
(If the global one, I get to visit my college and friends in America, and if in Singapore, I still get to visit a cool city I really like)
I'm open to new ideas for improvising my plan and also to criticism. I just want to network and talk to people, hear from them, because for me, talking to someone, hearing their stories, that's what stick to my brain more than online content. Also, I want to volunteer and make some friends :D
