I agree we should emphasize/normalize talking about choices and behaviours (e.g. ”I’m trying to not eat meat because of the effects it has on the climate”) over identity and labels that run the risk of alienating the listener instead of inviting them to a conversation. Similar to how someone might say ”I want to exercise more”, rather than ”I’m a healthist”.
