AI Safety Collab is opening sign-ups for local groups interested in running an introductory AI Safety course this winter. By collaborating across communities, AIS Collab reduces the operational burden on small teams, improves course quality, and creates a shared learning experience across Europe and beyond.

Program Highlights

  • Timeline: 26 January – 1 March 2026
  • Structure: Orientation week + 4 weeks of discussion groups
  • Format: Weekly groups of 5–10 participants
  • Curriculum: Atlas Fundamentals in AI Safety
  • Support: Facilitator training, templates for outreach, centralized operations (applications, scheduling, infrastructure, Slack support)
  • Track Record:
    • 54% completion rate in recent cohorts
    • 9.5/10 average satisfaction
    • Multiple new local AIS groups formed
    • Strong early-career transitions toward AIS work

Why Join as a Local Organizer?

AIS Collab handles most of the administrative and operational complexity, allowing local organizers to focus on their communities.

Local organizers:

  • Promote the participant application form locally
  • Identify or invite potential facilitators
  • Optionally run in-person meetups
  • Stay connected with highly engaged participants after the course

Organizers don’t need to manage applications, create infrastructure, or coordinate the program backend — all of this is handled centrally.

Estimated time commitment:

  • 2–10 hours/week during outreach (from the time you sign up until 14 January)
  • 0–3 hours/week once the course begins, depending on whether you facilitate
