With the recent changes to the CBG program — which for many EA community builders means CEA reducing their non-monetary support and shifting to a mostly grant-making role in this space — this is a good moment to coordinate more proactively among ourselves.

As a first step, we're setting up two closed channels in the EA Groups Slack workspace:

#mearo-professional (open to engaged community builders - existed for a while)
A channel for people and organisations working on meta EA community and infrastructure building. Not cause-area specific community building (e.g. AI safety, biosecurity, animal welfare), but general EA outreach, group building, and meta-level infrastructure. The bar is genuine engagement: joining calls, commenting on drafts, and contributing your own ideas.

#ea-community-building-paid (for funded community builders only - new)
For those in a funded general EA community building role at ≥40% FTE. Same focus: meta-level EA community building, not cause-area specific.

There will be a first coordination call for paid community builders on April 15, 16:00–17:00 CET. You'll receive the invite after signing up.
