Imagine you are given the resources to completely solve one major global problem during your lifetime.
You can choose from issues such as extreme poverty, preventable diseases, climate change, AI safety, animal suffering, educational inequality, or another cause you believe is important.
The catch is that every resource devoted to one cause cannot be used elsewhere. By choosing one problem, you're implicitly choosing not to solve others.
This reflects a challenge faced by many individuals, charities, and policymakers: deciding where limited resources can do the most good.
