I run a curated Discord for high agency people with Long COVID/ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis). The group includes tech founders, researchers, rationalists/EAs, etc. The focus is on troubleshooting each other's conditions actively, as well as creating a body of knowledge to bring back to the wider community in the form of writing, education, projects, companies, etc.

Some know me as Liface, others as Liam Rosen - I have been in the EA/rationality community for over 10 years, previously in the Bay, now in New York City. I am a tech CEO whose former life abruptly ended last year. I am now bedbound with severe Long COVID/ME, and am dedicating 100% of my time and effort to solving these complex conditions. 

Even as a 100% "solve malaria" donor, I believe that Long COVID/ME is one of the more underlooked cause areas from an EA perspective. These conditions receive near the least amount of funding relative to their QALY burden, are frighteningly common, and can have ghastly progressions (the most severe versions involve patients fed through tubes, unable to speak, tolerate light or sound, or move lest they worsen their condition). I also believe solving these conditions is much more tractable than it's made out to be - not only is research poorly funded, there are simply not enough sharp people in the space.

We're changing that, starting with patients first.
