I think being helpful as an individual is important to making an impact. I think this because individual helpfulness is an important collaborative skill. Collaborative skills let you work effectively in teams. Teams of humans make much larger impact than individual humans.
Based on this, I interviewed the most helpful friend I know for actions I could take to be more helpful. Here are all the actions.
*Note: My definition of 'actionable tips' is 'say exactly these words in this situation.' For example, if someone is crying/emotional, tell them "It's okay to express your feelings. I can make sure you have some personal space."
Most of the suggested language sounds condescending and would piss me off if directed at me.
