The best way to prove transformative AI is to create it.

If you had to guess who has the highest chance to create AGI, many would vote for Deepmind or OpenAI right? So why are we not trying to build companies that compete with these that we have more control over, or increase our chance of aligning ai before a totalitarian government with less regard for safety figures it out?
