Da Nang EA Coworking Hub

Feb 1st – Apr 1st

A 2-month coworking + coliving hub for impact-focused professionals who want to do meaningful work alongside a like-minded community!

What is this?

The Da Nang Impact Hub is a temporary coworking and coliving setup for people working on impact-focused work. The goal is simple: make it easier to do focused work and build real connections with other like-minded professionals, without needing to be in expensive cities like SF or London to do it!

This is a pilot. We are a small group of friends organizing this on our own time, because we’ve found that similar coworking/coliving hubs (especially those focused on effective altruist communities) have been incredibly valuable to us, and we want to help make more of them happen in affordable places!

Why we’re doing this

We’ve spent time in EA (Effective Altruism) hubs and found them incredibly valuable, both professionally and socially. However, we feel that working alongside other impact-minded people shouldn’t require living in the world’s most expensive cities.

We see affordable, intentional coworking hubs as a huge asset to the high-impact community, generating high-impact connections and collaborations and/or extending the financial runways of projects (including charity startups, research projects, and career pivots). Plus, it’s just a great place to spend the winter with like-minded friends!

📅 When & Where

When: February 1 – April 1

(some of the community may extend after April, but we’ve currently only booked these 2 months)

Where: An Hải neighborhood, Da Nang, Vietnam

  • Popular with expats and remote workers
  • Very close to nice beaches, cafés, coworking spaces, and lots of vegan food

Housing Options

We’ll have two main housing options, about a 15-minute walk apart:

  1. Shared house (Airbnb)
    • 8 private bedrooms total
    • 4 rooms currently available (couples can share a room if desired)
    • 15 minute walk from the coworking space (coworking membership fee not included if you stay at the shared Airbnb)
  2. Private rooms attached to the coworking space
    • Individual private rooms
    • Coworking space on site (included)
  3. You’re also welcome to find your own housing nearby — there’s plenty available in the area

💸 Expected Costs

We are a small group of friends organizing this on our own time (not funded nor profiting), and we have done our best to find a great location with affordable living to support an impact-focused community!

  • ~$300/month for housing, including utilities and WiFi (rent is similar at both housing locations)
  • ~$70/month for the coworking space— this is included if you stay in the Coworking space housing (instead of the Airbnb; you will have a private room either way)
  • Food, transport, and other expenses are on you.

💻 Work schedule, activities, & daily rhythm

Most of us will be working full time, either on formal work, projects, upskilling, or otherwise.

While there’s no mandatory schedule, we expect most of us will be doing focused and/or collaborative work during weekdays, and spending lots of social time after work!

There is lots to do nearby! Some examples:

  • Ultimate frisbee on the beach, ~10 mins walk away
  • Hiking at the coastal nature reserve ~10 mins uber away
  • Beautiful buddhist temples
  • Cheap massages
  • Rock climbing gym ~15 min uber away
  • Amazing food and cafes, including ~8 vegan restaurants within a 5-minute walk (the currently confirmed group has a few vegans and a few omnivores, all diets are welcome)
  • Incredible day trips nearby, including historic Hoi An and the old imperial capital Hue
  • Community events like open mics, board game nights, gratitude circles, deep conversations

Everything is opt-in!

We care a lot about community and connection, not just parallel work. This is meant to be a place where real, lasting friendships and collaborations form!

🙌 How to join

If you’re interested, do the following:

  1. Join the Impact Hubs discord! (This will also let you hear about future coliving / coworking opportunities and connect with like-minded people)
  2. Fill out this application form.
  3. We’ll set up a short call with a few of the people you’d be coliving with
    1. Just be yourself on this call! We just want to ensure a great community fit and high impact alignment, to facilitate great connections and professional outcomes.
  4. No hard deadline — but rooms are limited, so earlier is better.
