Courage, competence and cash are just some of the essential ingredients needed to bootstrap a charity. Join us at the new Ambitious Impact (AIM) London offices on the 16th of October for a series of talks on the journey from research to reality as founders and early employees discuss funding, running and measuring brand new effective charities.

Charities that have been through AIM’s Charity Entrepreneurship incubator program work on problems as diverse as lead exposure in Malawi, family planning in Nigeria and the welfare of farmed shrimp in Vietnam. In a short space of time these organisations have touched millions of lives with relatively modest funding, setting new benchmarks for giving effectively in the process.

We are excited to have representatives from Lafiya, FarmKind, AIM and GWWC speaking among others.

Please come along if you’re interested in using evidence and reason to find the best ways to help others and then putting them into practice. As this is also a Giving What We Can event we’ll also discuss how these organisations get their funding and how people who don’t found charities of their own can contribute to the exciting work they do.

Schedule:

  • 6-7pm: casual arrival & mingle
  • 7pm: talks start
  • 7-8pm: talks
  • 8-8:30pm: Q&A
  • 8:30-10pm: Mingle & socialise

Note:  Although we will discuss personal donations, the goal is to share information and build interest, not to solicit donations for any particular charity.
