Long story short, I’m now 15,000€ in debt, I don’t know how to pay for my health insurance this month, and should I not raise at least some money until the next month ends, I’ll probably have to file for insolvency. 

A couple of months ago, I took a leap of faith by pivoting my career once more towards AI Safety/Alignment. Since then, I made a submission to the AI Alignment Awards, submitted several funding proposals to the LTFF and other funds, and brought my expertise as a token engineer to GATO. 

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to raise money so far. My AI Alignment Awards submission did not make the cut, some of my funding proposals were already turned down, some are still pending, and GATO will probably need some more months to get decent funding. Needless to say, I’m in dire straits now. 

I’d like to know if there’s any way to get out of this situation? I’m considering setting up a GoFundMe page, but asking the EA community directly for donations is the least thing I want to do. Is there something like an emergency fund for this, or any other way to get refinancing?
