Writer/director Adam McKay, who grew up in Malvern PA and attended Temple University, previously tackled the 2008 crash (in the Big Short) and dick cheney (in Vice). Up next on his list is a topic near and dear, if you can put it that way, to EAs: existential risk. Though Toby Ord in the Precipice believes that asteroid risk is negligible, a film about the world turning a deaf ear to Literally Everyone Dying will be on point to those who spend a lot of time thinking about biorisk or AGI.
Come see the film that caused Eliezer Yudkowsky to say "I'm not going to see this because it is too real" https://twitter.com/ESYudkowsky/status/1461196297117990918
Join us at Iron Hill Brewery at 6p to hang out until a 730-8ish showtime at the 10th/Market AMC theater. Then back to either the Brewery or Quinn/Viv's house (nearby) for a discussion afterwards.
