Overview of Fellowship

The EA Summer Communications Fellowship is a two-month, in person summer program (July 1st-August 31st) sponsored by Open Philanthropy for comms-oriented EAs to work on high impact comms projects, upskill, and grow their networks. 

We welcome EAs in the early stages of their careers and EAs currently in undergraduate or graduate programs to apply to the fellowship. While we expect the fellowship to be a 35 hour per week commitment, we can be flexible on this for applicants who will also be doing another job remotely from the fellowship.

Housing, reimbursement for travel to and from the fellowship, and office space will be provided, along with a $6,000 USD stipend.

"Communications" is a wide category that includes any work broadly pertaining to how EA is viewed by the public at large — it includes journalism, writing, filmmaking and entertainment, marketing, lobbying and government advocacy, community building, art, fundraising and more. If you are interested in and/or already working on communicating about EA to people outside the movement, you’re probably a good fit! If you're not sure, please err on the side of applying.
