It is time for EA to stop all of its efforts as a movement and start to work on time machine technology.

Any technological innovation anyone develops besides time machines can only alleviate suffering in the future. Past suffering is forever a fact that cannot be changed by further interventions.

Time machines change this. Build a time machine and not only can you go back and stop atrocities before they start, with an infinite timeline you can stop ALL horrors with a time machine.

Genocidal dictator? Back in time, dispose of him, job done.

Animal abuser? Same thing.

Car accident in 1963? Jump in the machine and tell the driver to wait a bit or stay home that night.

Bumped into the counter and your favorite coffee mug fell on the floor and broke? Time machine agent will come back and save your mug before it breaks.

Since this is the only method to end all suffering everywhere forever, any and all efforts to do anything else are deeply unethical.

Shut down AI safety.

Shut down programs for the poor.

Shut down animal welfare programs.

We need a time machine and if you aren't working to this end, how can you begin to say your altruism is remotely effective?
