I'm trying something new: writing up a report about my charitable giving from the previous year.

In 2019, I donated:

  • $100 to the Trevor Project
  • $10 to the National Alliance on Mental Illness
  • $20 to the Against Malaria Foundation (AMF)
  • $10 to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
  • 7 monthly recurring payments of $10 to the ACLU, for a total of $70
  • $20 to a local museum in NYC

for a total of $230.

I also moved $220 as part of my birthday fundraiser for AMF.

Well done on your charitable giving, and thank you for sharing! For me, it's important and inspirational to hear about giving at all levels (and sometimes we hear less about giving at the level less high-earning people can afford, so this is great).

I'm glad you appreciate my post! $230 doesn't feel like much to me because I perceive myself as relatively well-off (for undergraduate students), but I still think that running a successful birthday fundraiser was an accomplishment. I'm glad that this can serve as inspiration to others.

Congrats! This is great! You should be proud!
